Marisol Deluna Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable nonprofit organization formed to support the education and mentoring of students and professionals in fashion, design and fine arts. The San Antonio based Foundation works statewide in partnership with civic, corporate and government entities to promote educational initiatives and community benefits.
The Foundation’s Fashion Initiative provides creative education and mentoring opportunities in the fashion and design arts to students and professionals.
The Foundation’s Linda Luna Duffy Creative Hope Initiative provides creative education and mentoring opportunities for those with special needs.
About Linda Luna Duffy: A retired Special Education teacher, Linda was honored during her 35 year career with the distinction of Texas Teacher of the Year in 2001. She taught encouraging inclusiveness with “I’m Special, You're Special”. Her sister Marisol has established this Initiative to expand Linda’s vision beyond a classroom.
The Foundation’s Carol Osborne Ackles Fine Arts Initiative provides creative education and mentoring opportunities inclusively for those interested in pursuing various fine art techniques.
About Carol Osborne Ackles: Carol was an art teacher, ceramicist and mixed-media studio artist from Syracuse, New York, who taught and mentored students in New York and Texas. Marisol was one of many students whom Carol inspired. She taught the value and importance of sharing one's creative talent with others through multiple disciplines.
Marisol Deluna, a New York fashion designer since 1989, is a native Texan. Deluna By Design, Inc.’s lifestyle label Marisol Deluna New York® was launched in 1997, offering signature apparel and accessory collections along with couture designs. Marisol supports the efforts of cultural, philanthropic and non-profit organizations including her eponymous foundation by providing creative mentorship and awareness. She currently resides in Lower Manhattan yet remains loyal to her Texas roots.
